We humans think of ourselves as supreme beings in absolute control of our destiny and our surroundings. We live with a false sense of security, only to be awakened by Mother Nature's fury. After having seen the ravaged coast of Thailand and the hurricane that affected the southern States, I decided to create a sculpture dedicated to Mother Nature.

Medium: Bronze, stainless steel, aluminium, black granite

About the artist

Lorenzo Quinn

Born in Rome in 1966 to Oscar-winning actor Anthony Quinn, Lorenzo grew up between Italy and the United States before training at the American Academy of Fine Arts in New York. After a brief career as an actor, including a celebrated role as Salvador Dalí, he found his true calling in sculpture. Inspired by Michelangelo, Bernini and Rodin, Quinn became one of the world's leading figurative sculptors, renowned above all for his extraordinary depictions of human hands. His monumental public works have been installed in Venice, London, Shanghai, Monaco and beyond, and his pieces are held in private collections across the globe.
