Fernanz’s #973 presents a serene interplay of muted earthy tones and clean, calm structure. Three broad, soft bands of solid color — a subdued blue, a gentle green, and a warm terracotta — stretch across the canvas with a quiet presence. The tones feel rooted in nature, evoking soil, sky, and living matter in their subtle harmony, while each stripe’s edges and surface reveal layers of texture that suggest depth and materiality. The restraint of the palette and the relaxed presence of the bands invite contemplation, encouraging the viewer to absorb the tactile nuances and the tranquil balance of form and color in this refined exploration of abstraction.

About the artist
Fernanz
Fernanz has always been driven by a restless creative energy. From a young age he began developing his artistic skills, eventually committing fully to abstract painting as the central language of his practice. His style is immediately striking: bold, high-contrast compositions built through multiple layers of oil, acrylic, inks, gouache and pencil, always in matte finishes, always full of movement and texture. He is entirely self-taught and continues to research and refine his technique to this day, approaching each new work as both an artistic and an investigative act.
