About the artist

Angela Carli

Angela Carli was born in Siena in 1978 and trained at the Duccio di Buoninsegna school of applied arts and the Florence Academy of Fine Arts. Her subject is women, and above all women who have fought for their freedom and independence. She paints them strong and fragile at once, always starting from the eyes, and will destroy a canvas if the gaze is not right. She teaches at her own academy and has exhibited across Italy and France.
