Eduardo Romaguera, contemporary artist represented by Jaloe Art Gallery

Eduardo Romaguera

Eduardo Romaguera was born in Valencia in 1976 and works across painting, photography, sculpture, video and new media without treating any of them as his main discipline. He studied Fine Arts at the San Carlos faculty in Valencia and widened his training on a scholarship in Mexico. He now lives and works in Marseille.

He has been exhibiting since the late nineties, in Spain, Mexico, France, the United States, Germany, Italy, Japan and Portugal. The work pairs technical precision with poetic intuition and often carries a streak of humour, and it is built to stay open: he wants you to interpret it rather than receive it.

He describes art as a creative game, an open-ended process in which drawing, colour and form are doorways into new sensory and emotional territory. That is why his practice stays hybrid and fluid, moving between disciplines while keeping a voice you can recognise across all of them.

Outside the studio he is active in the independent scene and co-founded collectives such as La Mutante, taking collaborative cultural projects from the Valencian region out to an international audience.
