Stonhenge stacks five glossy, faceted forms, pink, mint, yellow, red, and blue, into a single totem that echoes ancient standing stones in shape alone. About the artist

Helder Batista

Helder Batista was born in Paris in 1964 and is self-taught, beyond evening classes at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. He works in painting and sculpture, across resin, concrete, wood, neon, oil and acrylic, sometimes in the same piece. Drawing on Abstract Expressionism, he strips the work back so that nothing is decorative and there is room for the viewer to project their own reading onto it.
