“Under the Sea III” by Covella immerses the viewer in a serene, abstract underwater world. The textures and layered brushstrokes evoke currents and shimmering reflections beneath the water’s surface, while the absence of defined forms invites personal interpretation. The piece captures both the tranquility and mystery of the sea, offering a contemplative space where color and light guide the eye and the imagination.

About the artist

Covella

Always surrounded by oils, paints, brushes and frames, Covella began to feel a passion for art at the age of 6, guided by her grandfather — himself an artist. That early immersion never left her. Today, her paintings are instantly recognisable: richly layered abstracts built through mixed media, where pastel and vivid tones are chosen with extraordinary precision. Each canvas is a visual journey — full of textures, contrasting materials and whimsical brushwork that evokes sincere feelings rather than literal scenes. Her works are held in private collections across Germany, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Ireland and Belgium.
