Melkio was born in Genoa in 1984, and drawing has always been a part of his life. When he reflects on the meaning of “always,” he defines it this way:

“Since I can remember, I’ve always had a pen or pencil in my hand and a sheet of paper to sketch. For me, it was the most natural thing to do. I took it for granted, and that’s why I would often throw them away…”

Over the years, Melkio worked on various artistic projects, but at the time, he viewed them as mere hobbies while working in the marketing industry. In 2020, during the lockdown, he decided to fully commit to his artistic career, marking the beginning of his path as a professional artist.

As a phygital artist (physical-digital), Melkio blends both physical and digital tools in his practice. His works span animated projections, paintings, and object decorations, while maintaining a strong identity across all mediums. His art is immediately recognizable, often defined by a minimal color palette and bold lines.

Melkio’s research and artistic focus revolve around simplifying messages into a few powerful lines, merging Pop Art with illustration. His aim is to establish a dialogue with the viewer, allowing them to inject something of themselves into the work.

His style adapts to various forms, yet remains consistent and highly recognizable. Melkio thrives in collaborations with brands, developing dedicated collections and communication campaigns. He also enjoys experimenting with digital art, creating installations and live performances that push the boundaries of his creative expression.
