Francisco Casas
Francisco Casas has painted since he was very young, out of need more than choice. His subject is the still life, and his approach to it is hyperrealist: an extraordinary range of tone and light, handled with a simplicity that hides how difficult it is.
He prefers simple subjects at a small scale, and returns often to shells and origami, two things that reward exactly the kind of patience his work demands. He paints in oil, on canvas and on wood.
He has shown widely and has been awarded several prizes and medals, with work held on a permanent basis in public and private galleries. Among the venues where his paintings have been exhibited are Sala Sanchez in Seville, the El Corte Ingles gallery in Valencia, the UNESCO exhibition room in Alicante and Masters Art Gallery in Palma de Mallorca.
