About the artist
Tamara
Fanny Tamara Cortondo, known artistically as Tamara, calls herself a true colourist. She believes in colour as a healing force, a vibration that can shift the state of the soul and bring out something hopeful in the viewer. Based in Ibiza, she draws much of her inspiration from the light, energy and joy of the Mediterranean island around her. The sea life beneath its waters, with its endless variety of shapes, colours and creatures, feeds her imagination and returns again and again throughout her work. Through her project, El Taller de Tamara, she builds a creative world full of light, joy and optimism. Her artwork invites the viewer into dreamlike scenes: underwater landscapes, coral gardens and animals rendered with a sense of harmony and respect for the natural world. Every piece is made entirely by hand, from the first sketch through to the final layer. Her process blends sensitivity, technique and experimentation, working across watercolour, ink, pigment, acrylic, paper, canvas, collage and wood. The result is vibrant and personal artwork where colour becomes the true protagonist, a way of carrying emotion, hope and a deep connection to nature.
